Born and based in Madrid, Spok Brillor came up through the city’s graffiti scene in the 1990s, painting trains and walls with his crew TBC before training in Fine Arts. Over more than 20 years he has created over 30 public works, painted murals from Mexico and Buenos Aires to Hong Kong and Miami, and exhibited in more than 10 countries. His hyper-realistic, darkly humorous work fuses lettering with robotic and mechanical forms to create imaginary characters, and no piece is ever repeated. He has taken part in events at Tate Modern, Wynwood Walls, the Thyssen Museum and Somerset House, and has collaborated with Adidas and Absolut.
