Message from the artist: As the traditional art world appears increasingly divided on the role that NFTs will play in the future, it felt like an apt image to choose for my first print. In my own life I’ve found meaning in the overlap of art and technology, and this appears to be mirrored in NFTs.

When I first discovered NFTs I’d often hear them described as being collectible “like Pokemon cards”. Although this is a gross oversimplification, it still struck a chord with me. And like NFTs will do, this is a brand that shown consistently that it is here to stay.

More than a nod to the traditional and digital artworlds, with this piece I wanted also to explore the side of human nature that makes us feel the need to own/collect things: Pokémon cards, NFTs, money, shoes… etc. Do these things really make us happy? Will they keep us company?

For those of you who know anything about screenprinting - it’s a highly technical but also hugely creative process. My first experiences of screenprinting were pretty terrible but I loved the process. You are essentially creating a highly detailed set of stencils, using photosensitive paint. You then use these to build up many layers of paint to create a final piece. Often you don’t know what the image will look like until final colour (and this print was no exception). For anyone who’s not tried it - I recommend having a go! It’s kinda magic and definitely satiates the geeky side of me!

The guys at Toxic & K2 were amazing and I’m thankful to them for their patience (many rejected tests), care and the love they put into helping me bring this print to life. I’m looking forward to many more! Getting to this point (with the print and my life) has taken a lot of work, but it has been hugely worth it. Every day I’m grateful for the support you’ve all shown me and it is what keeps me going! Thank you.

Caring for your Print

Listed below are a few suggestions to help you take good care of your new print!

Our prints are wrapped with care in acid-free tissue paper and shipped rolled to ensure their safe arrival. To maintain their impeccable condition, it is important to store your print flat until framing.

It is advisable to keep your artwork in a space with normal temperature to avoid any unfavourable effects caused by extreme temperatures or humidity. We recommend framing your print behind glass to shield it from any environmental hazards.

When selecting a frame, we suggest choosing one with Art Glass. This type of glass will protect your print from UV damage and help preserve its colour and quality for an extended period of time.
