Joey Sare
Joseph Sare (b. 1996, London) is an artist and Creative Director who makes interactive sculptures and objects — work that is socially current, often provocative, and built to land without explanation. No formal arts training, just a scholarship to study Creative Direction at the School of Communication Arts and a career spent in advertising agencies and studios. The work is sharper for it.
His pieces have a habit of going viral for all the right reasons — a painkiller advent calendar that racked up millions of views within days, a bondage mask cut from leather taken from the benches of the House of Lords. The kind of work that makes you laugh, then think, then feel slightly uncomfortable about the fact that you laughed.
Featured in the Evening Standard, The Sun, The Mirror, and The Daily Mail, he has exhibited at MOCO Museum and been invited to show at Personal Structures, Venice Biennale.
