JEPPE NEDERGAARD

Jeppe Nedergaard works without a plan, and that’s the point. His paintings are built through instinct rather than intention - the figure isn’t decided in advance but found somewhere along the way. What comes through is a constant push and pull between calm and unrest, control and collapse. Paint is layered, scraped, reworked. Up close the surface feels fractured and unstable; from a distance, faces and bodies slowly fall into place.

For Nedergaard, painting is a space to step away from rules, trends, and expectations. The process moves back and forth between harmony and disruption, never settling too quickly. There’s no clean resolution here - just an honest attempt to work through emotion as it happens. Each mark feels both impulsive and necessary, acting as a release while also holding things together. The result is work that feels raw, human, and quietly confrontational - paintings that don’t perform, but exist.
