JONAH HOFFMAN

Jonah Hoffman (b.1998, New Mexico, USA - Based in London) works at the intersection of painting, material history, and systems of power. His cobalt-blue canvases dig into the hidden violence behind pigment production, global energy systems, and the economies that shape both art and technology. By layering abstract and hyperrealist paintings with research-driven narratives, Hoffman transforms complex histories into visual meditations on exploitation, ecology, and the artist’s role within these entanglements.

A graduate of Goldsmiths (MFA, 2025) and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (BFA, 2020), Hoffman has exhibited in London, Chicago, and Santa Fe. His work has been supported by the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation and the Puffin Foundation, and he is a two-time finalist for the Luminarts Visual Arts Fellowship.
