Kiko Miyares (b. 1977, Llanes, Asturias) trained as a painter before turning to sculpture, and has worked mainly in wood since 2004. He starts with familiar forms (a head, a body, a car, a pop-culture character) and warps their proportions and perspective until they are still recognisable but no longer quite right. Shifting as the viewer moves around them, his sculptures slip between figure and near-abstraction.
